Validating textbox in c - Live sexual chat

The following code example uses the derived class Text Box and validates an e-mail address that the user enters.

This example extends previous article how to show an Input Box in C# using simple static method. This code shows the Input Box class implementation.

For a malicious user(one who disables javascript) , validators will catch the mischief.

Hackers prey on developers who just use javascript validation without using server side validation.

To make your application accessible when using this component, you must provide an additional, accessible feedback mechanism.

hello does anyone know how i go about stopping users go past 6000 chars in my textbox i tried using rang validation but seems to be for numeric values any1 got any ideas of how i can accomplish this [:)] Thanks Andy, This will take a little bit of work to fit into your solution, but I think character counters are simply the best way of managing the length of a text box. It is so much easier when you know how much you have to work with.

In this example I use simple class named Input Box with static method Show (to be similar to Message Box. It has overloaded static method Show which takes following paramaters: a dialog title, a prompt text, a default value and optionally a validation delegate.

It returns a Dialog Result to detect wheather the OK or the Cancel button has been clicked. This example requires that a Text Box and Error Provider control have been created on a form.In Text Box_Leave event i need to check whether numbers entered in textbox is in serial number or not.Combine using the Validating-event with using an Error Provider (you can just drag it from the toolbox onto the form) to set an error message: it will be displayed as a (blinking) exclamation mark in a red triangle. An Error Provider can also block any submit-actions.is Valid Email works well when you need to validate a string and check whether it is a valid email address or not.
